Aurora Aksnes, born June 15th, 1996 in Stavanger and known professionally as Aurora often stylized in uppercase in the form of AURORA is an Norwegian singer and songwriter. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, released in May 2015 by Decca Records to great approval of bloggers in the music industry and media. The artist has already released two top-of-the-line covers Half the World Away by the group Oasis in a commercial for Christmas from John Lewis and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole. Katy Perry posted a video that she supported Runaway. It earned her some recognition. Enjoy her day. Aurora Aksnes' first musical moment was when she stumbled across a miniature piano that was in her basement and becoming enthralled by the sounds it produced. Jan Oystein Aksnes was her father. They encouraged her not to do music just to have fun or as a means of growing, but that she was encouraged to pursue it. Thus, she began with her own music. She has cited renowned songwriters Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan in her influences, along with an affinity for Bjork's style. When her mother told her that the songs she wrote could be used to not gain fame for her however, but to encourage people to realize the value of themselves and their impact in this world, she started performing them publicly. She began playing the piano at the age of six, and began making music when she was 9 years old. It was not until she turned 14 when she shared her story with her parents. Aurora had no idea of being a famous singer. The only thing she loves is writing songs. To her music, it is the most effective method of expressing anything.
